Dark Halo by Shannon Dittemore has finally arrived in local bookstores!
We’re celebrating with a launch and author book signing at Barnes and Noble this Saturday. Bring all your friends and join the fun. Shannon will be available to discuss the series, the writing process and what’s next for her. She’ll also be signing books and giving away lots of posters. Don’t miss this chance to meet an author who unashamedly keeps her readers up at night.
If you haven’t read the first two books in the series–Angel Eyes and Broken Wings–you’re in luck! Both titles are available at ridiculously great prices as part of the celebration of Dark Halo’s release. They are only $1.99 each from any of the major etailers (Amazon, Barnes and Noble, iTunes, CBD.)
Here’s a little teaser for Dark Halo:
One halo brought sight to Brielle. Another offers sweet relief from what she sees.
Brielle can’t help but see the Celestial. Even without the halo, the invisible realm is everywhere she looks. It’s impossibly beautiful—and terrifying, especially now. Because a battle rages above Stratus, Oregon.
The Terrestrial Veil is ripping, and demons walk the streets past unseeing mortals. Dark, sticky fear drips from every face, and nightmares haunt Brielle’s sleep.
Worst of all, Jake is gone. The only boy she’s ever loved has been taken by the demon, Damien. When she receives instructions from the Throne Room leading her to Jake, she unknowingly walks into a diabolical and heartbreaking trap.
Now she’s stranded in a sulfurous desert with the Prince of Darkness himself, and he’s offering her another halo—a mirrored ring that will destroy her Celestial vision. All she has to do is wear it and she’ll see no more of the invisible world. No more fear. No more nightmares. No more demons. It’s a gift. And best of all: it comes with the promise of a future with Jake, something the Throne Room seems to be taking from her.
Will Brielle trade the beauty of the Celestial and the truth of the world around her just to feel ordinary again?

Are you looking to hone your craft, learn about Christian publishing, and meet interesting authors? Would you like to connect with other writers for support, encouragement and prayer? We’ve found a great way to do all these things using one of fastest-growing social networks online–Twitter!
Inspire is launching a new weekly Tweet Chat! Our chats will rotate between author chats and prayers for writers. We will use the hashtag #WritetoInspire. Join us on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00PM (PDT).
Because many of our writers are new to Twitter, I’m sharing some basics to help you navigate the Tweet Chat.
How to Chat on Twitter:
Our Tweet Chat hosts will be @CheriDouglas and . Be sure you are following them on Twitter. I know they’ll do a great job and make these chats fun and engaging.
You can find me on Twitter too, @InspireWriters. You’ll see me on the chats, too. I’ll be helping out wherever needed.
Here are the simple steps to get plugged into the chat:
1. Enter “#WritetoInspire” into the search box at the top of the Twitter page. When you hit search, you will find the tweet stream.
2. When you comment and interact be sure to include #WritetoInspire (our hashtag) with EVERY tweet. If you copy and paste the hashtag, it will be really easy.
3. Try to stay on subject and follow the stream of the conversation. Use times outside chats to ask other important and relevant questions.
4. Be courteous. This is a time for open discussion.
5. Connect: chats provide a great opportunity to follow and develop followers among the writers who participate.
6. Pray for the chat and those who take part in it.
7. Invite others. We are growing and will offer more chats as part of our mission to equip writers to inspire the world.
Are you ready to Chat with the 2013 Write to Inspire Conference speakers? Our first Wednesday night chats will feature the speakers. It’s a great time to get to know them a bit and ask any questions you have.

Join us on Friday, June 14th at 6:30 pm for the launch of Kathryn Mattingly’s debut novel, Benjamin!
Kathryn will be signing books at Face in a Book, in El Dorado Hills, CA.
Here’s a little teaser about Benjamin:
After a brief affair with a man that would exit her life as completely as he had entered it, Victoria Agostini makes the heartfelt decision to raise their son Benjamin, alone. Through a dramatic set of events, the boy’s special gift leads her back into the life of this man who unknowingly fathered Benjamin, and she is suddenly faced with the complications of this reunion. Wondering whether father and son are mere mortals or something more, her confusion about faith and the complexities of love present difficult questions. Answers are hard earned as she struggles to protect what matters most to her–Benjamin.
“Kathryn Mattingly has created a story and characters brimming with emotion, intelligence and spirituality. The book takes a number of twists and turns but never forgets to keep us grounded as we join her narrator’s journey, from her being mystified to sanctified and, ultimately, to finding fulfillment.”- Ed Goldman, Sacramento Business Journal
Inspire Christian Writer member Kathryn Mattingly is also a featured writer for Leading Possibilities e-magazine.
